How to Give Proper Care to Your Rebonded Hair?

The process of hair rebonding uses toxic chemicals and heat. Your hair goes truly vulnerable to damage and needs proper care after the process. If you want to get rebonding done, here’s what you should do and not to do after rebonding –

Don’t wash your hair for at least 72 hours
You shouldn’t let your hair get wet after rebonding, no matter what happens. Your hair needs at least 3 days to settle into new structure. If you do it, it will not give best results.

Don’t tie your hair
Don’t tuck your hair behind year and use bobby pins or hair ties. Hair fasteners can leave creases on your re-structured hair. It is something you need to avoid, no matter what.

Sleep with straight hair
It might seem tough but you should keep your hair straight when you sleep for three days before washing them. You may want to avoid anything that can compromise its shape.

Give proper conditioning
After three days, you can finally wash your hair. Be sure to use mild shampoo made for chemically bonded hair. Put some conditioner on your hair and wait for a few minutes after washing your hair so you can let your hair to get some moisture.

No Heat Styling
Your hair has been styled already. If you can’t go without blow dryer, be sure to use it on cool setting. Heat will cause further damage to your hair.

Delay your hair coloring
Don’t go with any kind of chemical treatments for the next six months to come, including hair coloring. Don’t over process your hair. Treat your hair naturally for the next 6 months.

Trim them
Hair rebonding brings damage, especially split-ends. Visit your stylist every 6 to 8 weeks for hair trimming. It can prevent the damage to from happening on your hair.

Take cold showers
Cold water can lock your hair shafts and prevent damage and moisture lock. Along with conditioning your hair, it can also improve the overall health of the hair and preserve its shine. You may also shower with lukewarm water if you cannot shower in cold water. Avoid hot or warm water as much as you can.
